Trouble extracting string with XMLTools.selectString

I am trying to extract the field value: displayRelatedTaxIdValue. My code

XMLTools.selectString(rawData, "//displayRelatedTaxIdValue"))

is returning null. Can someone please help me with this? There is only one ‘displayRelatedTaxIdValue’ field in the json, not sure why it can’t find it.

{
   "data":[
      {
         "col1":"Title",
         "val1":"John",
         "col2":"Status",
         "val2":"Open",
         "col3":"Phone",
         "val3":"5454233321",
         "taxIds":[
            {
               "accountId":"123456789",
               "title1":"JOHN"
               "type":"PRIMARY",
               "status":"Open",
               "displayRelatedTaxIdValue":"123456789-PRIMARY-JOHN"
            }
         ]
      },
      {
         "col1":"VP",
         "val1":"NA",
         "col2":"Type",
         "val2":"Individuals",
         "col3":"Phone",
         "val3":"1234456789",
         "taxIds":null
      }
   ]
}

SelectString expects an XML document, not JSON. See selectObjects(), but note, it does not support ‘//’ in the XPath expression.

Thanks. After setting value xpath

DataSourceTextField taxIds = new DataSourceTextField("displayRelatedTaxIdValue");
relatedTaxIds.setValueXPath("taxIds/displayRelatedTaxIdValue");

I was able to extract it this way:

JSONArray taxIds = XMLTools.selectObjects(rawData, "displayRelatedTaxIdValue");
String strIds = taxIds.get(0).isString().stringValue();
String [] taxIdsArray = strIds.split(",");
