I am not seeing any indentation using a TreeGrid in IE8, however Firefox and Chrome both show proper indentation with a TreeGrid.
This has been posted before: http://forums.smartclient.com/showthread.php?t=7942&highlight=TreeGrid
Is there any resolution to this issue?
I am using SmartGWT version 1.2 and GWT 1.7.
It’s been answered a few times - use the IE7 emulation tag if you require strict mode support. Note strict mode is not recommend unless you are forced to use it (because IE keeps making non-backward compatible non-quite-standards-compliant changes in strict mode).
<meta http-equiv=“X-UA-Compatible” content=“IE=7”>
When I enable strict mode support by using
<meta http-equiv=“X-UA-Compatible” content=“IE=7”>
My ListGrid and TreeGrid columns go out of alignment with the header widths. Is this one of the reasons you do not recommend using this mode?
So basically there is no work around to get indentation working for IE in a TreeGrid with out causing other issues to surface?
Rendering is perfect with this tag, as all others users report. Most likely, you’ve added it in the wrong place or made some other mistake such as having external CSS in your project (see the FAQ).
The *.gwt.xml file shows no inheriting from a SmartClient theme (it is commented out). The project does have external CSS defined, so that means the TreeGrid and ListGrid cell alignment issues are due to the CSS usage and no SmartClient theme used? Had a SmartClient theme been used and no external CSS applied, everything would have been rendered perfectly?
