And here is SmartClient’s version ![]()
SmartGWT EE vs Vaadin Web Framework
Ok! But only the features does not say much to understanding the feasibility of each framework. We cannot take any conclusion.
Besides the features of each framework, how do you compare the architecture and programming model of Vaadin and Smart?
We are developing some test application in SmartGWT EE and we had a little difficulty for understanding the architecture for implementing a simple request/response application. In Smart, everything is based in datasource and this is a bit different of others programming models, mainly for JEE native Developers.
A difference that we could realize is that in Vaadin the programming model remains the same that a Conventional JEE Developer knows.
Other important point is how easy is to take advantage of the services provided by the frameworks?
Regards,
It entirely depends on your needs really. There are loads of things to consider when choosing a framework. The client-server data handling that Smart does would be a major undertaking to write on your own and there is probably going to be some need of that in whatever application you write. But any framework has a learning curve to it without question.
