RichEditItem available in LGPL?

Hi I’m new to SmartClient and recently downloaded it for evaluation purposes.

So far I’m only interested in the client side components, so I downloaded the latest LGPL version 8.0

I need to know if the RichtextEditor is available in this version. So far I’m able to create DynamicForms and basic elements using Javascript, as well as buttons an other basic controls.

However I don’t know how to instantiate a RichTextItem within a form. It doesn’t even has to be within a form, I just need to be able to prove it will work in my legacy environment.

I tried this code but I only get a simple text input:

isc.DynamicForm.create({
  ID:"editForm",
  width:400,
  canSubmit:true,
  fields:[
    {name:"Contents", title:"Contents", type:"richText", width:"*", height:300,
      controlGroups:["styleControls", "formatControls", "insertControls"]
    }
  ]
})

The documentation in the SDK is very scarce, so I built this snippet upon one I found from another post in this forum.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

editorType:“RichTextItem” (not “type” - “type” is data type)

Thanks, that did it.

By the way, is there some additional documentation on the RichTextEditor? I want to determine if there are additional controlGroups for bullet lists, etc.

The only controlGroups I see from the samples are: “fontControls”, “formatControls”, “styleControls”, “colorControls”

That’s what there is, it’s pretty basic. If you want a really full-featured RichText editor, we currently recommend embedding fckEditor, tinyMCE or a similar widget - there are a few threads on the forums with instructions and sample code for this.
