Question on large grid

Hi,

I am evaluating smartclient for our project. Currently I run into an issue with large grid - a grid with 60 columns and 500 rows. Users want excel like feature so that 30 columns will be editable.

I created the list grid with data and found that it ran slowly in Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP. The smartclient version is 8.

Can you please let me know how to fine tune the grid performance?

Unless you’ve applied special settings such as autoFitData or showAllRecords, which force all cells to be rendered, this scenario should perform fine since only visible cells are rendered (especially with editByCell:true, which is similar to Excel).

If you can’t get normal performance, you should post your complete code.

I asked my team members to test the page and it ran much faster than mine. My machine is a little bit old.
