dsRequest.getOperationId() and default operationBinding

SmartClient Version: v13.1p_2026-10-09/Enterprise Deployment (built 2026-10-09)

Hi, in a custom server-side DataSource I want to allow an update only when it goes through the default operationBinding, and deny it when the client targets another binding.

For a client request without an operationId, dsRequest.getOperationId() is never null.

Is there a supported way to tell, server-side, that a request is using the default operationBinding?

If there is no operationId specified by the client, the DSRequest gets a default operationId of dataSourceId_operationType, so you can detect that pattern.

However, interestingly, this has never been asked before (over 20 years!). That’s probably because, typically, the custom logic or settings (such as requiresRole to restrict access to an operation to just admins, say) appears on the operationBinding that has an operationId. That might be a simpler way to organize things in your application as well.
