Anti-malware block the smart client page and not able to show any content on my page.
We are using SmartClient version 6.0
We have a ‘try catch’ and the error.description is “Object doesn’t support this property or method”
Attached is the screen shot of the anti-malwaer showing it is blocking the js file from smart client.
We had failed to load the smart client page in IE7, IE8 and FireFox3.6.
We had set the website as trusted site and also checked/enabled all the following from IE:
This is obviously a spurious warning. You will first need to work with the Anti-Malware vendor to understand why their program believes that some part of the SmartClient code is a mass mailer (as indicated by the screenshot). This may lead to a workaround or bugfix for the Anti-Malware program.
If they come back and tell you that a specific section of code in SmartClient really should be auto-detected as malware (extraordinarily unlikely) let us know and we can consider adjusting the code to avoid triggering their heuristics.
We also don’t see any indication that the Anti-Malware product thinks that a try..catch is a mass mailer. From what you’ve said, the Anti-Malware product blocks loading of SmartClient. At that point, any number of JavaScript errors may occur, but they are not related to why the Anti-Malware product blocked SmartClient in the first place.
