Animated GIF Presentation

Just wondering…

Given an animated GIF file:

If I present it via DynamicForm.setBackgroundImage(“my.gif”), the animation is quite smooth.

But if I present it via Img(“my.gif”, sameWidth, sameHeight), the animation is more jerky and pixelated.

What’s up with that? What is the recommended component for this purpose?

You can see the HTML/CSS being used - we don’t animate the .gif, the browser does, so it’s unlikely we’ll be able to affect performance.

However - what browser(s)? Can you show the file?

“You can see the HTML/CSS being used…”

Do you mean by use of the methods getStyleName and getStylePrimaryName? Please expand on that.

My target browser is IE7, using this image:

OK, I just checked in Chrome, no issue. In Chrome, the Img display is just as smooth.

Oh well, sounds like a non-issue to me. I don’t imagine that IE7 support is a top priority, and I already have the workaround.
